Nick's Noggin is Taking Over My Brain :)

 Moose A. Moose and Zee, Franklin, Pinkie Dinkie Doo (If I don't spell all these correctly, please forgive me) These are just a few of the characters on Nick's Noggin.

 If you don't know what Noggin is, it is an educational channel,which features entertaining shows for kids of a fairly wide age range. I say a wide range of kids, because apparently it is age appropriate for yours truly, meaning me:)

I personally love the shows. Overall, the themes on the shows are very positive, upbeat and teach good cognitive, social and other learning skills.

Not that I really need that much help with my social skills. Well maybe a little :)

16 months ago, if you had asked me about the Noggin channel, I would have said "Noggin what"? Now the fact of the matter is, I wake up to Noggin, listen to it a major part of the day, and my son goes to bed watching Blues Clues.

Don't get me wrong, our son does not sit around watching TV all day, but even when he is playing or we are doing our play and learning things together, the Noggin channel is on.

So why do I say that Noggin is taking over my brain? Because, I know the lyrics of almost every song that is sung on these shows! And I sing them on a regular basis. I can be doing most anything and suddenly belt out a chorus of Critter Comrades "Some of my very best friends are furry" . Or the tongue twisting Theme song from,pinkie dinkie doo. "yesaroonie, positoonie, zip zam zoo",  ( or something like that)

 I have seen most episodes of at least my sons favorite shows repeatedly and a couple of nights ago, I even had a dream that I was a character in one of the shows. A dog of course, who somehow got stuck up in a tree, and had to be rescued by none other than Dora the explorer. Man, I tell you this Noggin has really got a hold on me :)

On a serious note.There are some who may not like some of the programming for various reasons, but I have yet to find anything offensive or "not fit for children" on any of the shows.

I think all the shows are done in good taste and with consideration for the healthy development of children. If you have access to the channel and you have kids, I recommend it. If you don't have kids, check it out sometime, you might find that it brightens your day.

For me, it sure beats the incessant bantering of CNN or other negative news drama or  even the primetime drama that permeates our airwaves.
